We are a research group at the University of Idaho, affiliated with the Center for Modelling Complex Interactions, and the Institute for Bioinformatics and of Evolutionary Studies.

Our overall mission is to investigate why cells rarely "look" the same, and how the extracellular environment affects such phenotypic diversity. Our specific phenotypic focus is on metabolism of individual cells and cell populations.

To answer these questions, we develop and apply novel bioimaging, microfluidics and optofluidic approaches. We also investigate how such tools can be applied to biomedical applications and diagnostics.
